So 00:01:12.549 --> 00:01:14.569 then he goes into the temple and he says, hey, 00:01:14.810 --> 00:01:20.439 stop it. Pretty much, right? Pretty much. Stop 00:01:20.439 --> 00:01:23.000 it. You know, the house is supposed to be a place 00:01:23.000 --> 00:01:24.819 where everybody's welcome and everybody's being 00:01:24.819 --> 00:01:27.480 invited in, and instead all you're doing is selling 00:01:27.480 --> 00:01:29.700 a bunch of stuff and ripping people off. Knock 00:01:29.700 --> 00:01:33.530 it off. And... We have a story today that is 00:01:33.530 --> 00:01:37.230 similar. Yeah. Yeah. In fact, many, I think we 00:01:37.230 --> 00:01:39.609 were talking when we actually, when we plan these 00:01:39.609 --> 00:01:41.329 out, sometimes we think we know how long we're 00:01:41.329 --> 00:01:43.730 going to take and we're wrong. Yeah. So this 00:01:43.730 --> 00:01:45.510 week and next week, we're going to be talking 00:01:45.510 --> 00:01:47.689 about how Jesus is then going to, from the cleansing 00:01:47.689 --> 00:01:49.549 of the temple, have these conversations and really 00:01:49.549 --> 00:01:52.909 confront leadership and different perspectives 00:01:52.909 --> 00:01:55.750 on what they think Messiah should be and what 00:01:55.750 --> 00:01:58.280 they think God should be doing. Yeah. So the 00:01:58.280 --> 00:01:59.319 first thing we're going to talk about, there's 00:01:59.319 --> 00:02:01.400 a place in the book of Matthew, it's chapter 00:02:01.400 --> 00:02:04.159 21. There's a story called the parable of the 00:02:04.159 --> 00:02:06.079 talents. And Jesus is going to be telling them 00:02:06.079 --> 00:02:09.120 this parable in response to them asking by whose 00:02:09.120 --> 00:02:11.500 authority he's going and doing things. Right? 00:02:11.840 --> 00:02:13.900 So I think you've got that up, right? All right. 00:02:14.099 --> 00:02:18.099 So here we go. Now listen to another story. A 00:02:18.099 --> 00:02:20.219 certain landowner planted a vineyard, built a 00:02:20.219 --> 00:02:23.419 wall around it, and dug a pit for pressing grape 00:02:23.419 --> 00:02:27.219 juice and built a lookout tower. Then he leased 00:02:27.219 --> 00:02:30.280 the vineyard to tenant farmers who moved and 00:02:30.280 --> 00:02:34.409 moved to another country. At this time of the 00:02:34.409 --> 00:02:36.830 grape harvest, he sent his servants to collect 00:02:36.830 --> 00:02:39.389 their share of the crop or his share of the crop. 00:02:39.469 --> 00:02:42.330 But the farmer grabbed his servants, beat one, 00:02:42.409 --> 00:02:45.210 killed one and stoned another. So the landowner 00:02:45.210 --> 00:02:48.129 sent a larger group of servants to collect them. 00:02:48.189 --> 00:02:51.409 But the results were the same. Finally, the owner 00:02:51.409 --> 00:02:53.569 sent his son thinking, surely they will respect 00:02:53.569 --> 00:02:56.870 my son. But the tenant farmers saw his son coming 00:02:56.870 --> 00:03:01.110 and they said to one another, here comes. the 00:03:01.110 --> 00:03:03.770 heir of the estate. Come on, let's kill him and 00:03:03.770 --> 00:03:06.150 get the estate for ourselves. So they grabbed 00:03:06.150 --> 00:03:08.650 him, drug him out of the vineyard and murdered 00:03:08.650 --> 00:03:11.490 him. When the owner of the vineyard returns, 00:03:11.689 --> 00:03:17.009 Jesus asked, what do you think he will do to 00:03:17.009 --> 00:03:20.669 the farmers? Religious leaders replied, he will 00:03:20.669 --> 00:03:23.810 put the wicked men to a horrible death and lease 00:03:23.810 --> 00:03:27.969 the vineyard to others to give him his share 00:03:27.969 --> 00:03:33.169 of each crop after each harvest. Jesus asked, 00:03:33.169 --> 00:03:37.650 then Jesus asked him, didn't you ever read this 00:03:37.650 --> 00:03:40.909 in the scriptures? A stone that the builder rejected 00:03:40.909 --> 00:03:43.849 will become the cornerstone. This is what the 00:03:43.849 --> 00:03:47.069 Lord is doing. And it is a wonderful to see. 00:03:47.150 --> 00:03:50.729 I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken 00:03:50.729 --> 00:03:53.590 away from you and given to nations that will 00:03:53.590 --> 00:04:00.090 produce proper fruit. When the leading 00:04:20.769 --> 00:04:22.670 priests and Pharisees heard this parable, they 00:04:22.670 --> 00:04:26.490 realized he was telling the story against them. 00:04:26.569 --> 00:04:29.589 And they were the wicked farmers. They wanted 00:04:29.589 --> 00:04:31.750 to arrest Jesus, but they were afraid of the 00:04:31.750 --> 00:04:35.089 crowds and who considered Jesus to be a prophet. 00:04:35.790 --> 00:04:39.839 All right. So first off, let's just. point out 00:04:39.839 --> 00:04:42.199 the hilarious part about this is that jesus tells 00:04:42.199 --> 00:04:44.519 him the story and he's like what do you think 00:04:44.519 --> 00:04:46.540 that the farmland owner should do and they're 00:04:46.540 --> 00:04:50.519 like thinking rome right they're like You should 00:04:50.519 --> 00:04:52.560 kick them out and put people in charge that are 00:04:52.560 --> 00:04:55.399 better. And then he's like, oh, dang it, they're 00:04:55.399 --> 00:04:59.040 talking about us. Right? They're like, ah, backfired. 00:04:59.160 --> 00:05:01.699 Yeah. So I want to come back and touch on a few 00:05:01.699 --> 00:05:04.259 references to this. One of them is from Isaiah 00:05:04.259 --> 00:05:07.439 5. It's the Song of the Vineyard. So I just want 00:05:07.439 --> 00:05:09.019 to kind of read this because this is kind of 00:05:09.019 --> 00:05:11.060 the setting of what's going to be talked about 00:05:11.060 --> 00:05:13.860 here. I will sing for the one I love a song about 00:05:13.860 --> 00:05:16.319 his vineyard. My loved one has a vineyard on 00:05:16.319 --> 00:05:18.600 a fertile hillside. He dug it up and cleared 00:05:18.600 --> 00:05:22.259 it of stones and planted it with the choicest 00:05:22.259 --> 00:05:28.220 vines. He built a watchtower in it to cut out 00:05:28.220 --> 00:05:30.259 a winepress as well. Then he looked for a crop 00:05:30.259 --> 00:05:32.740 of good grapes, but it yielded only bad fruit. 00:05:33.040 --> 00:05:35.279 Now you dwellers in Jerusalem and people of Judah, 00:05:35.339 --> 00:05:37.779 judge between me and my vineyard. What more could 00:05:37.779 --> 00:05:39.519 have been done for my vineyard than I have done 00:05:39.519 --> 00:05:41.600 for it? When I looked for good grapes, Why did 00:05:41.600 --> 00:05:44.000 it yield only bad? Now I will tell you what I'm 00:05:44.000 --> 00:05:45.959 going to do with my vineyard. I will take away 00:05:45.959 --> 00:05:47.879 its hedge. It will be destroyed. I will break 00:05:47.879 --> 00:05:50.100 down its wall and it will be trampled. Because these 00:06:00.620 --> 00:06:02.959 people are very familiar with what Jesus is pulling 00:06:02.959 --> 00:06:06.139 in. So it starts give thanks to the Lord for 00:06:06.139 --> 00:06:08.120 he is good his love endures forever Let Israel 00:06:08.120 --> 00:06:10.000 say his love endures forever. Let the house of 00:06:10.000 --> 00:06:12.399 Aaron say let his love love endures forever Those 00:06:12.399 --> 00:06:14.199 who fear the Lord say his love endures forever 00:06:14.649 --> 00:06:17.209 Catching a theme here, right? When hard -pressed, 00:06:17.329 --> 00:06:19.129 I cried to the Lord. He brought me into a spacious 00:06:19.129 --> 00:06:21.910 place. It is better to take refuge in the Lord 00:06:21.910 --> 00:06:24.350 than to trust in humans. Hoshana, 00:06:55.149 --> 00:06:57.410 right? Blessed is he who comes in the name of 00:06:57.410 --> 00:06:58.970 the Lord. For the house of the Lord, we bless 00:06:58.970 --> 00:07:01.050 you. The Lord is God, for he has made his light 00:07:01.050 --> 00:07:05.470 shine upon you. So, if you remember from the 00:07:05.470 --> 00:07:08.870 triumphal entry just a few weeks ago, They were 00:07:08.870 --> 00:07:11.769 crying these verses when he was coming in. Blessed 00:07:11.769 --> 00:07:13.610 is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Right. 00:07:14.149 --> 00:07:17.850 And now Jesus is taking that same Psalm and reminding 00:07:17.850 --> 00:07:20.310 them is like, Hey, this King, this kingly figure 00:07:20.310 --> 00:07:23.189 is saying everybody's against me, but it's better 00:07:23.189 --> 00:07:25.310 to trust in God than to trust in people. Yeah. 00:07:25.350 --> 00:07:26.769 It's better to trust in God than to trust in 00:07:26.769 --> 00:07:29.279 the powers around you. Now, who's he talking 00:07:29.279 --> 00:07:31.040 to? He's talking to them. Like, what are they 00:07:31.040 --> 00:07:32.540 trusting in? They're trusting in their institutions. 00:07:32.740 --> 00:07:34.600 They're trusting in their, their wealth, their 00:07:34.600 --> 00:07:37.860 power, like whatever it is. Right. He says, no, 00:07:37.860 --> 00:07:40.360 you need to trust in God and God's going to do 00:07:40.360 --> 00:07:42.220 it all. But the very thing that you're rejecting 00:07:42.220 --> 00:07:43.939 is actually going to be the cornerstone of new 00:07:43.939 --> 00:07:46.839 creation. Right. The very thing that you're rejecting 00:07:46.839 --> 00:07:48.399 is actually going to be the cornerstone of everything 00:07:48.399 --> 00:07:51.420 that comes up. Well, and then you also, you, 00:07:51.579 --> 00:07:55.589 you, in the story, you have the. a landowner 00:07:55.589 --> 00:07:58.189 sending people to help the farmers. Yeah. Right. 00:07:58.310 --> 00:08:01.069 And oftentimes we don't interpret it that way. 00:08:01.110 --> 00:08:03.149 Cause like, no, there's, they were going to correct. 00:08:03.250 --> 00:08:05.709 Right. Yeah. Well, often that's what Jesus does 00:08:05.709 --> 00:08:07.970 in our life with sin. Right. He comes in and 00:08:07.970 --> 00:08:11.189 he corrects that. And so, but you have the landowner 00:08:11.189 --> 00:08:15.050 being like, Hey, they're doing this, go and correct 00:08:15.050 --> 00:08:19.269 this. Yeah. Like help them. Yep. Like the landowner 00:08:19.269 --> 00:08:21.370 wasn't there to kick those farm tenants out. 00:08:21.430 --> 00:08:25.350 He's like, just go correct that. Yeah. And, And 00:08:25.350 --> 00:08:28.189 then the tenants were like, okay, cool. We're 00:08:28.189 --> 00:08:29.850 going to kill him too. And we're going to kill 00:08:29.850 --> 00:08:32.110 him and we're going to kill him. Right. And so 00:08:32.110 --> 00:08:34.230 you have this, you have the story of, of the 00:08:34.230 --> 00:08:36.769 landowner in this case, God being like, I'm sending 00:08:36.769 --> 00:08:39.190 someone to help you. Yeah. I'm sending someone 00:08:39.190 --> 00:08:41.070 to be there for you and you're pushing them away. 00:08:41.509 --> 00:08:44.009 And, and, uh, coming back to this Isaiah, he 00:08:44.009 --> 00:08:46.429 says, I did everything I could. I'm done. I've 00:08:46.429 --> 00:08:49.929 done so much. Um, now in this, in this, in this 00:08:49.929 --> 00:08:52.509 parable, like the leaders understand at the end, 00:08:52.570 --> 00:08:57.639 but the landowner is obviously God. The servants 00:08:57.639 --> 00:09:01.799 who keep coming to address the farmers, these 00:09:01.799 --> 00:09:03.539 are prophets. Because what are prophets supposed 00:09:03.539 --> 00:09:05.120 to do? They're supposed to speak truth to power. 00:09:05.840 --> 00:09:09.740 They're supposed to be a guideline pulling Israel's 00:09:09.740 --> 00:09:12.519 kings back, Israel's leadership back to who they're 00:09:12.519 --> 00:09:15.720 supposed to be. The priesthood is supposed to 00:09:15.720 --> 00:09:18.000 every day help you ritualistically get into a 00:09:18.000 --> 00:09:21.059 rhythm of like... serving God and following God 00:09:21.059 --> 00:09:23.580 and, and worshiping God. Uh, but the prophets 00:09:23.580 --> 00:09:25.580 are when you get out of line, they can say, Hey 00:09:25.580 --> 00:09:27.259 guys, let's go back to where we're supposed to 00:09:27.259 --> 00:09:30.820 be. And they also speak that to the, to the priests. 00:09:30.899 --> 00:09:32.659 Yeah. Right. Because that's what's happening. 00:09:33.279 --> 00:09:36.679 And, um, and so, and he's like, he's like, you 00:09:36.679 --> 00:09:38.379 didn't like the prophets, you killed them. Remember we read a couple 00:09:44.080 --> 00:09:46.899 of weeks ago and he's like, Then the son came 00:09:46.899 --> 00:09:48.940 and you're like, oh, you know, if we kill him, 00:09:49.019 --> 00:09:50.120 you know what the owner is going to want to do? 00:09:50.200 --> 00:09:55.340 Give us more land. Yeah. No. You're completely. 00:09:56.039 --> 00:09:58.059 He's been trying to bring you back. He's bringing 00:09:58.059 --> 00:10:00.340 you back. And you very much. Because people will take this 00:10:08.659 --> 00:10:09.720 and they'll be like, well, that's because the 00:10:09.720 --> 00:10:11.419 Gentile church is going to supplant the Israel 00:10:11.419 --> 00:10:14.580 church. No. Faithful followers are going to replace 00:10:14.580 --> 00:10:17.240 the ones who are not being faithful. Yeah. And 00:10:17.240 --> 00:10:18.940 because if you remember in the book of Acts, 00:10:19.059 --> 00:10:20.600 the church actually starts with a bunch of Jews. 00:10:21.139 --> 00:10:24.440 Right. And they go and they spread out and they 00:10:24.440 --> 00:10:26.159 start growing in number with a bunch of Jews. 00:10:26.340 --> 00:10:29.139 Yeah. So this is not supersessionism. This is 00:10:29.139 --> 00:10:30.879 saying that God is creating this new creation, 00:10:31.120 --> 00:10:33.179 the cornerstone of which is going to be Jesus 00:10:33.179 --> 00:10:36.700 himself. I'm he's rejected, but he's actually 00:10:36.700 --> 00:10:38.320 going to be the foundation of everything that's 00:10:38.320 --> 00:10:40.720 coming after. It's, 00:11:03.830 --> 00:11:05.789 it's no longer representing like actual worship 00:11:05.789 --> 00:11:08.350 and actual ritual and actual following of God. 00:11:08.529 --> 00:11:11.690 It's now a place of commerce. It's no longer 00:11:11.690 --> 00:11:14.250 a beacon of hope to the world. Yeah. And he's 00:11:14.250 --> 00:11:17.629 like, listen, that's it. That's done. It's time 00:11:17.629 --> 00:11:19.350 to be a beacon of hope to the world again. Yeah. 00:11:20.090 --> 00:11:23.169 Right. Yeah. Let's zoom. Can we zoom in on, uh, 00:11:23.169 --> 00:11:27.570 Jesus's question to the Pharisees here? So when the 00:11:47.299 --> 00:11:49.720 owner of the vineyard returns, what do you think 00:11:49.720 --> 00:11:53.580 he will do to those farmers? Now, this question, 00:11:53.799 --> 00:11:54.879 you're like, okay, this is really simple, but 00:11:54.879 --> 00:11:58.320 really the Pharisees are left in a bind, right? 00:11:58.500 --> 00:12:00.639 Because one, they don't realize that Jesus is 00:12:00.639 --> 00:12:03.259 relating the farmers to them yet. Correct. So 00:12:03.259 --> 00:12:07.179 if they answer, he needs to kill the farmers, 00:12:07.340 --> 00:12:10.549 Jesus is like, okay. you know you're the farmers 00:12:10.549 --> 00:12:13.669 right yeah right and if he answers and if he 00:12:13.669 --> 00:12:17.370 answers well well he's just not going to do anything 00:12:17.370 --> 00:12:19.870 he's just going to show show mercy or kindness 00:12:20.960 --> 00:12:24.200 And then Jesus could answer, what about your 00:12:24.200 --> 00:12:27.259 son and all the atrocities that these farmers 00:12:27.259 --> 00:12:30.399 have committed? Either way, it points back to 00:12:30.399 --> 00:12:32.799 either the Pharisees and the atrocities they've 00:12:32.799 --> 00:12:36.919 committed in Jerusalem right now, or the Pharisees 00:12:36.919 --> 00:12:38.799 just being like, oh, no, kill him, take him out, 00:12:38.899 --> 00:12:41.879 which would signify that they themselves now 00:12:41.879 --> 00:12:44.850 see. They now see themselves as evil. Right. 00:12:45.009 --> 00:12:48.190 Or at least know Jesus sees them that way. One 00:12:48.190 --> 00:12:49.850 of the other things that I see in this story, 00:12:49.889 --> 00:12:51.470 too, when he's having this conversation with 00:12:51.470 --> 00:12:53.929 them, because I'm always told that the God of 00:12:53.929 --> 00:12:55.690 the Old Testament is God of fire and brimstone. 00:12:55.950 --> 00:12:58.669 Right. And obviously in our podcast, we disagree 00:12:58.669 --> 00:13:01.950 with that. We believe that Jesus is the representation 00:13:01.950 --> 00:13:05.970 of who the father is, like the made flesh. Right. 00:13:07.629 --> 00:13:10.029 And you ask yourself, you're like, if you're 00:13:10.029 --> 00:13:11.970 reading the story, I don't know if you, when 00:13:11.970 --> 00:13:13.789 you've read it, sometimes you're like, okay, 00:13:13.870 --> 00:13:15.210 they killed the last people. Why would you send 00:13:15.210 --> 00:13:19.490 more people? Right? Like in my head, I send somebody, 00:13:19.549 --> 00:13:21.529 they kill them. I'm like, oh, let's send more 00:13:21.529 --> 00:13:24.389 people. You know, they're 00:17:23.779 --> 00:17:26.559 like, how could you betray your people? They've already 00:17:53.880 --> 00:17:55.519 told you what they think, where their allegiance 00:17:55.519 --> 00:17:57.720 lies. And then he says, now, whose inscription, 00:18:03.200 --> 00:18:06.539 whose image is on this silver? Whose image? So 00:18:06.539 --> 00:18:08.299 he takes it a step further, right? Yeah. Now, it feels like there's 00:18:35.869 --> 00:18:38.130 something in the image, something in the book 00:18:38.130 --> 00:18:40.589 of Genesis that talks about mankind being in 00:18:40.589 --> 00:18:44.029 the image of somebody. It talks about mankind 00:18:44.029 --> 00:18:47.309 being made in the image of God. And so Jesus 00:18:47.309 --> 00:18:51.589 says, likening back to the prophets and Micah 00:18:51.589 --> 00:18:55.250 and many others, it says, you think that the 00:18:55.250 --> 00:18:58.549 money matters. If Caesar wants his money, he 00:18:58.549 --> 00:19:01.730 can have his money, but don't you dare give him 00:19:01.730 --> 00:19:05.339 what belongs to God, which is you. You remember? 00:19:05.440 --> 00:19:08.059 You're leasing out a space. Yeah. You're supposed 00:19:08.059 --> 00:19:10.559 to be producing fruit. I was having a conversation with 00:21:08.319 --> 00:21:10.619 a friend the other day, and it was along one 00:21:10.619 --> 00:21:12.660 of these things, because Jesus is having conversations 00:21:12.660 --> 00:21:15.220 with these religious leaders and these people 00:21:15.220 --> 00:21:17.900 who think that they know what's going on in the 00:21:17.900 --> 00:21:19.819 kingdom of God, which, by the way, we've never 00:21:19.819 --> 00:21:23.700 been in danger of being, right? Being the religious 00:21:23.700 --> 00:21:25.720 leader that's close minded to what God's actually 00:21:25.720 --> 00:21:28.299 doing or thinking that our way is right and nobody 00:21:28.299 --> 00:21:30.579 else could possibly do anything any other different 00:21:30.579 --> 00:21:33.279 way. There is not a single person who's had this 00:21:33.279 --> 00:21:36.099 experience with God where God has been like, 00:21:36.240 --> 00:21:38.740 hey, or where you've been like, hey, I believe 00:21:38.740 --> 00:21:40.500 in God. This is how everything's going to work 00:21:40.500 --> 00:21:43.440 out. Here's my 37 step plan to get through my 00:21:43.440 --> 00:21:45.920 life so that I can be in eternity with Jesus. 00:21:45.980 --> 00:21:48.980 And then God upheavals that about a third of 00:21:48.980 --> 00:21:51.279 the way through step one. I'm the downtrodden. If you 00:22:14.529 --> 00:22:16.190 grew up in church, you're probably the Pharisee. 00:22:17.529 --> 00:22:19.990 You're probably the Sadducee. You're probably 00:22:19.990 --> 00:22:22.819 the religious leader. Like you probably need 00:22:22.819 --> 00:22:25.920 to listen to what he's saying to them and let 00:22:25.920 --> 00:22:28.619 it prick your heart. Like, I know that that's 00:22:28.619 --> 00:22:30.420 the case for me because like, I have these ideas 00:22:30.420 --> 00:22:32.420 of like, I'm like, well, I know how God works. 00:22:33.180 --> 00:22:37.440 And he's like, do you, do you know how I work? 00:22:37.619 --> 00:22:41.299 Right. And, uh, and a lot of times, and, and 00:22:41.299 --> 00:22:43.500 I was like, you know, am I in danger of, of with 00:22:43.500 --> 00:22:46.539 what God has like, cause it's, it's a huge honor. 00:22:47.539 --> 00:22:49.940 and a huge privilege, privilege to grow up in 00:22:49.940 --> 00:22:51.779 a church that worships God or grow up in a family 00:22:51.779 --> 00:22:54.480 that worships God. And traditions don't necessarily 00:23:00.380 --> 00:23:03.599 always translate like what the, what the called 00:23:03.599 --> 00:23:06.819 out life is supposed to be. Yep. Right. So one 00:23:06.819 --> 00:23:09.319 of the things I would just encourage listeners 00:23:09.319 --> 00:23:11.980 is if you are a person who's grown up in the 00:23:11.980 --> 00:23:14.119 church, when you read these stories, just pause 00:23:14.119 --> 00:23:16.819 and be like, if this is me, what, what might 00:23:16.819 --> 00:23:19.900 this mean for me? Yeah. Right. When you look 00:23:19.900 --> 00:23:21.980 at this, you're like, am I actually bringing 00:23:21.980 --> 00:23:25.400 plate things that don't belong into God's temple? 00:23:25.500 --> 00:23:28.660 Yeah. Right. Am I asking questions to try to 00:23:28.660 --> 00:23:30.500 trap Jesus into doing what I want him to do? 00:23:30.720 --> 00:23:33.220 Or am I actually allowing him to lead and guide 00:23:33.220 --> 00:23:36.480 me? Yeah. I actually think it was like four weeks 00:23:59.049 --> 00:24:01.869 ago. I know. It was like a month. It's just been 00:24:01.869 --> 00:24:06.029 a blur. But there's times in the Psalms where 00:24:06.029 --> 00:24:08.690 David is like, Lord, if you do this, then I will 00:24:08.690 --> 00:24:14.430 praise you. And you're like, and because all 00:24:14.430 --> 00:24:15.970 these bad things are happening to me, so if you 00:24:15.970 --> 00:24:18.509 do this, I'll praise you. And there's times where 00:24:18.509 --> 00:24:20.150 we're like, okay, we're going to try to put conditions 00:24:20.150 --> 00:24:23.450 on our praise. And I'm just here to say that's 00:24:23.450 --> 00:24:26.150 not who we're called to be. Right. Right. Like 00:24:26.150 --> 00:24:29.190 we're called to be people who who even when we're 00:24:29.190 --> 00:24:32.230 in good places, we're in bad places, we're in 00:24:32.230 --> 00:24:35.069 good spirits, we're in bad spirits. We are here 00:24:35.069 --> 00:24:38.670 praising God through it all. Right. The stone, the stone. 00:24:59.240 --> 00:25:01.440 The cornerstone. Reminding ourselves in this psalm, it 00:25:05.170 --> 00:25:07.069 says, man, it's better to take refuge in God 00:25:07.069 --> 00:25:08.750 than with people. It's better to take 00:25:10.690 --> 00:25:13.049 refuge with God for his love endures forever. 00:25:13.769 --> 00:25:15.849 Coming back to this Isaiah imagery, he's going 00:25:15.849 --> 00:25:18.390 to come after us with faithfulness, with chesed, 00:25:18.410 --> 00:25:21.690 which is the word that they use for love, steadfast 00:25:21.690 --> 00:25:24.609 love. He's going to come after us over and over 00:25:24.609 --> 00:25:29.259 and abundantly. be ready to course correct. Yeah. 00:25:29.359 --> 00:25:31.359 Right? Absolutely.
