Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the sheep Get Sheared Podcast, home of people's politics and popular culture. I'm your host, Austin create. I want to welcome you into the show. My friends want to kick things off right out the gate by showing some numbers. And then after I show some numbers. We'll get into the bigger discussion, but I want to let the data talk first. Because at the end of the day, you any schmuck with a microphone or a a phone for that matter, could talk out of there to talk about whatever the hell they want. I want to give some data before I do anything else. I would like to present the money that Big Pharma makes every year, and I also want to talk about. Where they spend the money and what they spend on lobbying and everything else. So here we go. I would like. To present to you exhibit A. How much money? Big Pharma big Pharmaceuticals makes in a year now. This is just what's reported. I understand this stuff. Could be you could pay triple Irish, Dutch and all that good stuff, but this. Is what they say. That says global pharmaceutical market was estimated at 1.48 trillion in 2022. And in 2021, it was $1.42 trillion. You're that almost 1 1/2 trillion dollars now. I'm not here to tell you all pharmaceutical drugs are bad because it's not true. We need pharmaceutical drugs to an extent. But what? Really. Angers me is how they've exploited mental health. Mental health has gone from not really talked about to over prescribed, and I have anecdotal evidence to support this. I have statistical data to support this and we're going to get into it right now. Next thing we're going to talk about ready for this. Here it is. How much money Big Pharma spends on mental health and how much they make on it? According to linkedin.com, the psychiatrist and nerve drug market was valued at $20 billion, and they suspected to reach 30 bill in the next 10 years. Antidepressants ranked third in the pharmaceutical market sales worldwide, with 13.4 bill in sales last year alone. That represents 4.2% of all pharmaceutical sales, which? It may not seem like a whole lot at first glance. You know, four point was at 4.2% doesn't seem like a big thing, is it? Well, it is when you think about how much they push mental health. Now, mental health, really. Issue. I'll tell you a personal story now that I've given you some data, I'll tell you a personal story. I was in the Air Force. When I was in the Air Force, I got to a really dark and deep dark place and when I was in the Air Force in that deep dark place, I ended up going to a. Mental health institution for about 28. Days thus 28 days changed by life. However, I saw what medication did to myself and to others with the drugs that I took. Stuff like Prozac, Zoloft, all that stuff. I've taken it. I know what they do to people. I know how it affected me. And let me tell you, I'm not gonna tell you not to take your drugs. I'm not gonna tell you not to take out stuff. Listen to your doctor. They're the professionals. What? I will tell you is this for me. Myself, while helping me the most get through all this was giving myself a reason to live, not just something to take to not want to die. OK. This is why I'm not a fan of Big Pharma giving people drugs. They should give people direction, not drugs. Drugs treats the symptoms given someone direction treats the root cause. I want everyone listening to the show right now. I want you to realize. If you feel depressed, you feel you're anxious all the time. You're not alone. If you feel like psychotic, you have mental health problems. I'm not one of these people who thinks it's fake. I know it's not fake. I know it is real and I want you to understand you're not alone. But I also. Want you to know that not everything can be solved by medication. Sure it can help take the edge off the symptoms. But it makes me sick when I look at Big Pharma. Let's go back to these numbers real. Quick it makes me. Sick when I see numbers like this. With the shooting of unpopularity, because when the military especially, they push the stuff on you like Pez of a Pez dispenser, they threw the drugs at you because they thought it would fix the problem. It doesn't fix the problem. We will take the edge off, maybe does it also cause a lot of potential downsides, which I've seen? The downsides of both first hand and indirectly trust me, my friends. Some of the the school shootings we're seeing not all that is about guns, a lot of. It is about drugs. Now I'm not owned by Big Pharma, so I can tell you that politicians, they're not going to tell you that that is why you don't hear that talked about because if you did, you asked the question, but you're not. You don't hear anybody asking the question you want to go back to the, you don't think I'm. You think I'm lying, huh? OK, here's my next. Piece of evidence how much money? Hold on. Before I show you the answer. Hold on. Before I show you. Answer How much money do you think big Pharma pharmaceutical companies? All that? How much do you think they spend on lobbying your congressmen, your senator, your President, your state legislature? How much money do you think they spend on lobbying these people, huh? All you didn't know they spent millions of dollars lobbying. Oh, you didn't know? That. Ohh well, you're about to know right here. You're welcome. Here's the numbers. According to no, not some right wing website. Where? Who's according this by? Ohh. The National Institute of Health and Official website of the United. It's government, so anybody who wants. To call me a. Liar. You can go screw yourself. Here it is right here. Oh, would you look at that? Let's see, study this observational study, analyzed publicly available data. Attention, potheads. Attention, Democrat plants. Attention, government agents. Publicly available data. You're welcome. Thank you very much. Found that pharmaceutical and health products industry spent seven point. $4.7 billion on average of $233 million per year on lobbying the United States federal Government. 414 mil on contribute unconstitutional to presidential and congressional congressional electoral Candidates, National Party committees and outside spending groups. 233 for lobbying the feds alone, 414 million on congressman and presidential candidates, $877 million on contributions to state don't over double. On state candidates and committees, my friends. This is according to let's go back. Let's go back the National Institute of Health, the National Library of Medicine, National Center for biotechnological information. Right there, an official website of the United. States government. But you will know this data because you didn't know to look it up and this is not just this year. This is from 1999 to 2018. My friends, This is why I am concerned. I understand that there are certain drugs like penicillin, antibiotics. I get all this stuff. There's some drugs you need. I understand that. I'm not saying that that money should not be spent there. What I am saying is they spend a fortune. On lobbying state, local and federal bureaucrats and people in power. To make let's go back how much money again do they make? 1.48 or one point? $5 trillion a year. My friends. I don't make this up now. I'm not saying the Big Pharma is inherently evil. What I'm saying is you don't know this information. You don't know. How much money they spend on lobbying your Congressman, your Senator, your state representative, they spend millions and billions of dollars on this, almost a billion. Alone on state committees, state congressmen, state senators, all the people in state government almost double no. I think it is over double. It's over double. What they spend on the Fed and what they spend on congressional and presidential candidates, my friends, This is why you don't hear this conversation are big levels in the government. This is why you don't hear Congressman talk about it. This is why you don't hear Republican people talk about. This all you. Think it's only Democrats? Ohh, no all no my friend. If you think it's just the Democrats, you're mistaken. They own everybody. You really think they're going to pay off the people who are most likely to bring them up like Mr. Ramaswami, you really think that they didn't give him money or I guarantee they did? I guarantee you they do. You don't think they're going to give people money to not talk about them? Oh, yes, they will. Yes, they will, my friend. That's why you never hear people talk about real issues and politics because they're getting money to shut. The hell up. They're getting money to dump me up like. The mob? The mob. Back in the day, we'd go and pay money. They'd actually give the money to you directly. Now they go. They play triple double Irish. Dutch to go pay to this shell company, to this person to give. They gave money here. Who did this? Who did that give to this congressman who gave it his presidential candidate? That's how they play the game now. Don't shoot the messenger. I'm telling you the truth. This is why I don't like how they've exploited you. They've explored the political system and they've exploited mental health. In particular, I find it to be reprehensible and disgusting. It makes me sick. Sorry if I. Blow out your ear drums. It wasn't my intention. I'm just getting really passionate. Because I I hate it when I see people get away with such crooked garbage, it makes me sick to see the fact that people will get hurt. People's lives get ruined, kids get fed this garbage when they're young to get programmed to so that people can get rich and makes me sick. That they would exploit weak people, I. Understand why they do. It it's profitable. I don't blame them for doing. It but it makes me sick. That no one calls us out and makes me. Sick. No one has. Like guts to turn down the money and say what I'm saying right now because I'm not. Owned by anybody. No one owns Austin Creed, baby. Nobody owns me, so I'll talk about this. They don't like it. Go ahead. So. To me, this is publicly available data right here. Boom. You want to see it again? Government website, right there. Right here, right there in bold, baby. Right there. You wanna sue me? Go right ahead. Right there, baby. Publicly available data by the government spending billions of dollars. Paying people up to not say Jack and not only to not say something negative, but to say something positive or to not say a Dang thing to anybody, period. And it makes me sick and it makes me so angry, my friends. You need to understand Big Pharma is just one. You think they're you are the only ones doing it. Oh, no. Ohh, no, they're not alone. But I've seen how they pushed mental health, mind altering meds on people who don't know what they are, don't know what they do, don't know the long term effects. Not warned, they're vulnerable, and yet they get pushed on them. Push pushed on me. Ohh yeah. Or you have. A personal bone to pick about this one. My feelings aside, what do you have to say? Do you have experience with this? Do you have a direct personal story relating to this topic of Big pharma and mental health and how they exploit people and how they bribe, bribe everybody to dummy up? Yeah, you got anything you want to say? Go ahead. I welcome it. Because this is a safe place, even if you told me, Austin, you're an idiot. You you're a plant. Whatever. I don't care what you say. I'm not gonna block you. I'll disagree, but I'm not gonna block you there. People criticize me all the time. I don't care. I don't care. This is something that needs. To be said, I want this to be said. I'll risk my neck. Yeah, yeah. I'll risk my neck and take on a $1.5 trillion industry. Yeah. Ohh, yeah, I'll do it. I just did. I can do. I can go on about this for. The next hour but. But I realize that number one, you probably don't want to hear me talk about it for an hour. Number one. And #2, I think you get the point that they spend billions of dollars. Trying to exploit you use you and no one says anything because everybody's been paid off and smeared off and totally dummy up. Look the other way. Don't say anything. Don't don't react. Don't give the blame. The guns. Ban the guns. Don't talk to the drugs. Don't talk about drugs. Don't talk about the pharmaceuticals. Don't talk about that. Talk about the IRA. Talk about the NRA. Talk about everybody that's not us, because that's we're paying you for. My friends, what do you have to say? I really know what you want to. I want to hear you talk. I know I'm not alone on this. I know I'm not. But I want to hear what? You have to say my friends. Stay informed. Stay vigilant and please, for God's sakes, question everything that comes your way. Do not be a guppy and a fish tank. I encourage you to do your own research. That is why I find the best sources I can that are not biased. I try my best to give you. The information that you can use to make your decisions on what you believe to be true and what you want if you come to the same conclusion as me, fantastic. But if you don't, that is your choice and that is what I want to give you is a choice. So you can make it all a well informed decision that could affect the rest of your life. My friends talk to you next time. I hope you enjoyed the show. I hope you learned something. I'm out of here. Please. If you have any thoughts, comments, concerns, questions. Find me on X as chief.
