Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the sheep Get Sheared Podcast home with people's politics and popular culture. I'm your host, Austin Creed. I want to welcome you to the show this morning. So my friends. I had a very interesting thought this morning as I was getting my breakfast getting ready for the day, all that good stuff. I love mythologies, whether it's Greek, whether it's Roman, whether it's Norse, whether it's voodoo, whether it's I you pick a lot of different cultures. Chinese is very interesting. Mesoamericans very interesting. But you know, when you look at the myths and the legends of different areas of the world. You realize how similar a lot of them are. You realize how there are figures that are similar across the board, whether it's their powers, appearance, certain creatures show up all across the world like Dragons, even though they might look a little different. And it brought me to a greater question that I believe should be a topic for a show, and it's does man need myths now. There are myths stemming from the mythologies with monsters and heroes and whatnot to the myths that we on the notes to us believe every day. Like for example, the myth that women are better than men or morally superior to men, or that women's body count is. Low. But you know what? I don't blame them for lying. To be frank with you, because a lot of people can't handle the truth when you're a kid. You can't handle the truth that Santa Claus isn't real, or that the Easter Bunny doesn't exist. You can't handle those simple little truths, right? They blow your world apart. You're like what? That can't be true. But that doesn't end with Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. It gets really difficult when you Fast forward a little bit and you realize that a lot of men and women believe in mythologies. Better fiction, in other words, in their everyday lives, you don't realize it because you think it's real. For example, this idea of love, love, in my opinion, is a choice. It it can be a feeling too. But when you're feeling in love, it's not really. It's the easiest choice in the world to make. But when you go to monogamous marriages. Past Year 5 tops. It's a choice, and that's why you see a lot of marriages today are ending because that choice is becoming more and more on incentivized. What I mean is there was a time when society would enforce marriage, now they don't care. So people do what they want. And so this mythology of true love that was pushed forward by modern day storytellers like Walt Disney, for example. The people at Time Warner. These things are being. Shown for the mythologies that they are just as science gave us a lens to peer into the mythologies of ancient religions to see them as no, there's not actually a guy named Thor beating his hammer in the clouds to produce lightning. It's because of the friction with the clouds and the water and everything else that produces lightning. So you can bust mythologies with just a drop of truth, but the problem is a lot of people don't want those truths. They can't handle that truth. So my question to you is, does man need myths? Do you do you need myths? Do you have to believe in these various? Mythologies, fictions and lies. To get through your life. Now I'm not trying to put you down. I guarantee you there are probably still myths that I believe that I'm not even aware of yet. I would like to think that. I'm a truth seeker. And my ego is detached from my masculinity. It's detached from my knowledge. It's detached from these things cause I want to learn. To learn, you must be humble. You cannot be. You cannot be a learning man to be proud, because then you will be adverse to learning new things and then you will stagnate. And when you stagnate, you're really going backwards because you're either going forwards or backwards. There's no just hovering in one, you can't. Just tread water. That's my opinion. But let's go back to this man. Need myths? I mean, I know when I was a kid, I was fascinated by these tales of these, this crocodile guy that lived in the Nile River in Egyptian mythology. I was very interested by guys like Zeus who lived in the clouds on Mount Olympus who threw lightning down and had a lot of. Very interesting relationships with a lot of different women. I thought it was very interesting to me. I was interested by the princes in Disney and Disney movies. I was interested by like the Genie from Aladdin. I thought he was really cool. But then you realize that these things aren't real. While they can serve a purpose in teaching you a lesson that you can then apply to the real world, they're not real. Least not from what I know, not from what I've seen. But again, it draws in a bigger question of what are. What myths do you, unbeknownst to you, believe? Because make no mistake about it, most people cannot handle the truth. Most people cannot handle the clear uncut. View of reality. It would make them go crazy. They would react in a very. Unbeknownst to us, savage ways, I know this to be a fact. That's why people have to lie. That's why people lie a lot. And you know, when you look at studies, you see that women say they lie to men because they want them to feel good because they're for their own survival. Well, not I get it now. I don't like it when people lie to me because I'm not going to get mad. For example, if a woman tells me that I'm not the best, she's. Ever had in bed? I'm like, OK. I I'm not gonna lie to you. OK, that's good. I don't want you to lie to me. Because then I can improve it. Then I could say, OK, well, this didn't work and that didn't work. OK, well, how can I fix it? How can I? Become better. How can I learn? From this encounter with the truth, instead of saying, hey, you know what, I don't like how that made me feel. So then I'm gonna respond with my feelings instead of responding to the facts that say, hey, you could have done better here, or you dropped the ball. OK, great. Well, let's. Fix that then. But the problem is people don't think that way because people tend to be emotional and I'm challenging you. That if you want people to tell you the truth, whether it's me, whether it's people in your personal life, professional life, I want you to be able to handle these little chipping away at your worldview because of your a lot of your worldview is probably based on myths, legends, lies and deceptions. Now, that doesn't mean they're all Maleficent in nature. That doesn't mean they're all meant to hurt you, per se. In fact, probably a lot of them are meant to shield you from the harsh realities of the world. For example, if you were a kid and there was one year. Where Santa didn't come. And their parents were like ohh, maybe use one of the kids this year ascending common. You're like, oh, this is terrible. How could this happen? But what actually happened was your parents had a really tough year and they couldn't afford presents for you. But they didn't want to share that with you. Because you wouldn't fully understand what they're talking about. #1 and #2, you don't want to hear that. You'd rather hear that Santa didn't come this year because, Rudolph, you know, got him lost or he fell, or he got fell down the wrong chimney. That's what you'd rather hear. Not the harsh, unfortunate realities of the world. So my friends. What lies have you been told in your life that you found out later to be false? But then you realized after you processed through that you realized that they weren't told per se to hurt you? They were just meant to maybe protect the other party or shield you from some of the harsh realities of life? That maybe. They wanted you to avoid. Are you like me or you want the truth even if you despise it? You'd rather have the truth than living a lie that makes you feel good. But I firmly believe that mankind needs mythologies to because most people, they can't handle reality. They can't handle the UN very unfortunate, uncomfortable and uncouth. Realities of the world. I wish that wasn't true, but I see it all around me that it's just unfortunately true. And I will, if they come to me and they want the truth, I will make sure they want the truth. And then I'll tell them the truth. But I will not just give unsolicited truth to people. My personal life. I'll do it here on the podcast because I love doing it. And I know that if you clicked on the show, you. Want to hear it? But I'm here to tell you. Well, I will firmly believe that mankind requires myths to keep them going. Because people are very weak spirited a lot of times they want to believe what they want to believe and they don't see what they do not wish to see. So my friends, where do you stand? Do you believe that mankind requires myths and legends? Or do you? Are you more on my side where you think that the truth should be explained, at least to you? And you can handle it. Whether you like it or not is not the issue. It's whether you can handle it or not. I can just walk away if I don't like something that I heard that I know is true. I'll just separate myself from that situation and say I need to process this real quick and I'll process my way through it and then I'll come back and say, you know what? Thank you. I needed to hear that. I appreciate it. Thank you. Now let's move forward. I'm not. I never allow shout at people for telling me the truth. I think that's dumb, because then you're telling them to lie to you. You aren't punishing them for being honest with you. And then why do? You think they're gonna? Do tell you truth again. I'll hang on. No, they're gonna. Lie to you next time. Because I know you can't handle it. So my friends. I leave it up to you. Where do you stand do? You believe that? You know, it's kind of harmless for people to tell you little white lies here and there, or are you more aligned with me where you want the truth, even if you despise it. You want the truth. I'll leave it up to you, my friends. Does man need myths? You're more. I'm going to ask that question as soon as I stop editing and everything in the studio, I'm going to go on Twitter, I'm going to ask that question. You're more than welcome to go on to my ex page at sheep get sheared and and tell me what you think. Tell me what you think. Or you can like and favor the show whatever it is you want to. Do you know what to do? My friends, God bless you. God bless your families and God Bless America. Oh, before I go, I spent this whole book is a truth busting book, by the way. That's why a lot of people get mad when they read it. I've had people review it, who I know who read it. They're like, dude, this is really tough. Like, yeah, I I hear what you're saying, but it's tough for me to digest all this. I can't handle it. I say. I get it, trust me. Ohh, why do you think I wrote a book about it? Being untraditional and finding your own way in the world. Of course it's tough. Anywhere. That's you. Anytime you're blazing a new trail. It's tough. But again, going back to the harsh realities of life. The path that is most travelled is usually the path. That will not lead you to prosperity. Have a great day, my friends. I'm out of. Here. Peace.
