Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the sheep Get Sheared Podcast, home of people's politics and popular culture. I'm your host, Austin create. I want to welcome you in the show. So it's actually really early where I am here. So I might not be too loud. I'm gonna try to be a little on the quieter side, but my friends look. You know. I had a very interesting conversation in my class the other day about a reality that is becoming all too familiar to me and I look, you know. Education is supposed to enlighten you. It's supposed to inform you about the realities of the world. It's meant to prepare you as a kid for what you're going to go through in your life. That's what education is for. At least, that's what they're told you the problem is what education is actually for is to make you another corporate drone. To sit on an assembly line, I mean, that's what the Industrial Revolution gave to both America and to the Western world was this idea of serving the robber barons and their predecessors on the assembly lines. That's when the first billionaire Rockefeller got his money. And then JP Morgan, Henry Ford. Andrew Carnegie, when all of them made their money. They began to create this culture of the industrial revolution and then creating this mentality of. You step up. To the assembly line, you do the same thing over and over and over and over again and. You then eat, sleep and then do it all over again the exact same way you did it yesterday. This is not always existed. This is mainly a creation of the industrial revolution. Now I want to bring this full circle because you will not believe if you if you're in education, you know what I'm talking about. If you're not, well then I need to and bring you up to speed on how. Our education systems become a joke. We in America, we like to think we're the smartest, we know everything. The world evolves around us, and in some ways it does. Other ways, like education, we are slipping. Not even slipping. We're *********** down the hill or about to hit the bottom, hit the ski lodge below us, my friends. If you think that we're at the top or anywhere near the top of our education. You're wrong. I believe it's Singapore is at the top. Korea isn't pretty close to the top. China is pretty close up to the top. We're not anywhere near the top. You want to know why, because instead of adopting the curriculum to the highest? Earned the highest achievers, where instead pandering to the lowest common denominator. Instead, we're saying, hey, if you're a dummy, if you're stupid, if you're a druggie, if you're a moron, we're not gonna let you fail. Instead of letting them fail and then saying we can allocate more resources to the people who are actually succeeding, we're instead making the people who are succeeding being in the same room. With the moron. Now I don't understand how you could think that that's a good thing. I'm not saying that you shouldn't purposely fail people. What I'm saying you should do. Is not is. If someone's gonna be a whack job and a loser, let them be a loser. If people are gonna fail, let them fail. Failure is a good teacher, but because of this whole self esteem racket. People aren't failing and we're not letting them fail anymore. I'll bring this. You don't believe me? Here. Look at this. New York Times. The Holy Grail of the left wing and the media. I knew got a classroom, no grades, no failing and no hurry. Ohh, this should be great. Let's look at this. Let's see a few middle schoolers are as clued in to their mathematical strengths and weaknesses as the 7th grader that they mentioned. Who I will not name. Let's see. They're mentioning grades. How this shot to this kid, for being really smart. Says in these schools, what school is he from? Interesting. OK. And then these types of schools, there is no such thing as a C or a D for a lazy written term paper. When I went to high school, you could fail. When I went to high school, if you got a C or D, you were a dummy. Even if you gotta be, you weren't considered not that smart in my high school, but apparently in these schools today, there's no such thing as a C or a D because that would hurt your self esteem since there is no failing, there is only goal is to learn the material. Well, that's what grades are. They're supposed to measure. How you retain the information that the teacher was teaching so that you actually paid attention for struggling students, there is ample time to practice and get it. OK, that's not inherently bad for those who grasp the concepts quickly, there is an opportunity to swiftly move ahead. That's not from what I read, strategy looks different from classroom to classroom as a material that students must master. But in general, students work at their own pace through worksheets, online lessons, and small group discussions with teachers. But the teachers have to then adapt. It doesn't work in the same way. Anymore this this is not what we're supposed to be doing out here. How can someone move ahead if the teacher is focused on a dummy who's five steps behind you? See how that doesn't really work anymore? That that's not how it's supposed to operate. Let's see. Vermont and Maine have passed laws requiring requiring my goodness, and I can't speak, requiring student school districts to phase in the system. What does that mean? The phase in the fact that now we're, we're we're pandering to the dummy. New New Hampshire is adopting it as well. No shock. Explore the practice. In other words, they're gonna try to also save the money. Ohh boy. My friends look at this crap over 40 schools in New York City, home to the largest school district in the country with 1.1 million students have adopted this very program. So in other words, there's no grades anymore, there's just the takes you five years to get. It takes you 5 if it takes you five months, it takes you five months. Ohh boy. Oh boy. And communities where the shift was mandatory, high schools in and around Portland. Ohh, Portland. The method based considerably resistant for parents. The method faced considerable resistance from parents and teachers. No kidding, annoyed that the time consuming and sometimes confusing change. Has come from top tier school administrators. If anything, it's the other way around. New York School, New York City's Department of Education officials have taken a ohh of course. Of course they disagree. Not a shock. My friends, what do you think about this? I'll show you something else. Look at this. You see these pictures? Yeah. This is what school used to look like. Now the average school I I look on Twitter and I keep seeing these fighting videos. You you notice a a little common denominator with these pictures. All the kids looking down at their desks, looking at the teacher who's at the blackboard now one of them on Ritalin, on marijuana or throwing a bottle at somebody or starting a fight in the bathroom. Not. One of them. Look at this. Learning how to sew in the classroom and this is all African American kids. The white kids, the Hispanic kids, all of them. Well behaved, not again in fights dressed well. Boys aren't fighting each other in the bathroom, doing drugs, stabbing each other. Girls aren't out dressing for Instagram, looking like they're their home mom. They're actually reading books. Oh my God. Reading a book. Austin, we don't read books. What kind of you? Who do you think I am? We. Don't read books. Well, I've written a book so I know a. Thing or two about it. Look at these women are well dressed, modestly dressed, not one of them twerking them or pushing, wearing a push up bra on to trying to get the dude to thirst after them. No, look, they're actually trying to get an education. My God, how far we've fallen in this country. The Asian American community. Every community you're represented not, but look, you notice one trend, not one person is on Ritalin, marijuana beating somebody up. Trying to sell drugs at the back of the classroom, yelling at the teacher, trying to chill them on to. Do their. Job. Ohh my land. You see this is the problem today. Today, people don't fear authority. They don't respect authority. So instead of what they'll do is they'll tell you that they're wrong and they have a single Mama. More than likely they have no father figure. So they hate their teacher for telling them what the hell to do when that's their job. They hate the principal for telling them what the hell to do, even though that's their job. Unbelievable to me, man, what do you? What about you? When you went to high school, was it like? This only gonna be short again. Was your high school more like this? Or more like this where you can just do whatever the hell you want. Go at your own pace and the dummy can take as much time as they want and whatnot. What do you think? What should happen in this country is this? Is this indicative of where we're going? I think it is. I think this is totally fitting. We got what we deserved yet again voted Biden. Education systems a joke, and who you blame for this? I know who I blame. But the real question is who do you blame? I think I'll cut it there. I think that's all needs to be said on that. I can go down and do statistics and all that stuff, but I think you get the point, my friends. God bless you. God bless your families. God Bless America. Tell me what you think about education system. Feel free to tell your story about when you're in high school, middle school, elementary school and college. And the comments below. Until next time, my friends, God bless you. I'm. Out of here? Peace.
