Ladies and gentlemen, and welcome you to the sheep Get Sheared Podcast, home of people, politics and popular culture. I'm your host, Austin Creed, and my friends, I was originally going to wait. On this. But you know what? I can't stand the lies that have been putting out here. And how it never surprises me how stupid people are, especially California. I grew up in California, I. Still have a certain love for the state, but the people who run it are terrible and they're incompetent and they're stupid and they're corrupt in my opinion. Now what am I talking about? Well, if you've seen anything about the minimum wage increase. By Governor Newsom and his cohorts. Has huge ramifications and I don't understand why people think that if you work fast food. I've worked fast food by the way, so I'm not just saying this as some hoity toity rich guy who doesn't understand the plight of the common man. No, I understand the plight of the common man quite well. What makes me sick, though, is they don't understand that when minimum the minimum wage is raised. The people are not actually getting. They're getting hurt. In fact, they're at high risk of being displaced. They're at high risk of having their jobs replaced by technology. Whether that comes in the form of robots, AI, which has been poured billions and billions of dollars down the hallway of AI, this is not. On accident. And I don't understand how people don't get how minimum wage works. It's it works the same exact way as inflation. That's why I played the clip at the beginning of the show with an economist, she's either. Lying directly or she's lying. My omission because this is disgusting. What do you mean that there's not a lot of quote? Poor minimum wage workers. Of course there are. There's a lot of them, you know. Many Burger kings there are at Chick-fil-a's and all these other places. There's a lot of them. But yet these people who work these minimum wage jobs think that they should be paid a living wage. You ever heard that saying a living wage? No one taught these people that there's a supply and demand curve and the higher. That there is for supply and that the supply and demand affect the marketplace. That's basic economy. Economics. Sorry, but my friends, look, if you don't have a high, if there's not a high demand. For your job when it comes to how? Many skills it demands. Then you're not going to have a lot of supply of money flowing your way. If anybody can do your job and you're replaceable, even by a robot, then your job is not valuable. Your job is not worthy of getting a quote livable wage. These people stay stationary. And they want to work a Burger King and make a bag off of the back of the the board executives and these people, it's not going to happen. But let me bring up. Look at this. The California minimum wage. This is what I was just talking about, says the California minimum wage, effective on the 1st of this year. 2023 is $15.50 an hour, regardless of the size of the employer. So regardless of whether you're you got two employees or 200, you're still paying this amount of money for minimum wage now. It's supposed to go up to $16.00, but there's a bill. But they want to increase it to $20.00 an hour. But let's look at this. That goes down my county, how much they're paying minimum wage. Los Altos $17.00 an hour. Do people not understand how minimum wage works? They want to pretend as if, oh, we raise the minimum wage and suddenly everyone will be able to afford everything and everything's going to be great. Do these morons not realize that when you increase the minimum wage, that means the employer has to pay more so they're not making as much of A margin so they can't grow their business? That's number one. And #2, if there's ten people working there and they're all making $10.00 an hour, you up that to $12.00 an hour? Guess what? As an extra $2.00 per person that they're losing per hour, which means that now there's not going to be 10 people working there, but eight or seven. And their hours are going to be cut as well because they're not going to give you overtime. They're not going to give you full time because now they're losing money and you could say, oh, it's greedy Austin, that's not fair. I never said anything was fair, I said. This is how it works. And then you look at the billions of dollars being shoveled into the AI business. This is not an accident. They're wanting AI to take over these mundane, menial jobs. Just look at the fully automated. McDonald's that they have in Texas, do you think that that's not gonna happen more and more as the technology advances and people become more comfortable with it? Ohh yes it will. Oh yes, my friends, it most certainly will. But people don't seem to get this. Look at the West Hollywood $19.00 an hour dude. Unbelievable. See this is the problem. This bill that they want to sign to raise the minimum wage. Up to 20 bucks an hour. And of course, they point out that's going. To benefit single. Mothers and all these other people that are just towards the bottom rung of society. These people need to be given a little bit of a fire under the behind and say, hey, guess what, you can't make money flipping burgers at in and out your whole life unless you're going to bust your behind and make yourself not replaceable. Being hard to replace if you're if you're just, you're working there for five hours. You know 5 hours a. Day. It's not gonna work. My cousin, he works hard. He opens franchises in other states. He's working Hard Out Here. He's hard to replace, takes time, takes experience, takes grind. He's hard to replace, but the guy who just got hired 2 months ago who flips burgers, you know, part time. Oh, he's replaceable. Even the person that works full time, that's very replaceable. They're they're not going to be doing all that great, man. I'm telling you, people want to do the bare minimum and then get. The a bag off of the society. It doesn't work that way. Look, I'll share the screen with you. Says what you need to know, beginning in April of next year. So that would be April 2024, California's minimum wage for the States, 500,000 fast food workers will increase to 20 bucks an hour. My friends are the sheep get sheared podcast. I'm gonna ask you a question. Do you think this is the right thing to do? Do you think that these individuals deserve 20 bucks an hour for flipping burgers at Burger King? Do you think these people deserve 20 bucks an hour? Here's the problem. The more you raise the floor, the higher the house goes. Do you think the walls and the roof don't come with it? This is the problem. Less people will be hired because of this and people will lose their jobs. People will go from making $15.00 an hour to a zero because they won't have a job anymore. This is the problem and the businesses that are smaller who can't afford this, they're going to leave the state or go out of business altogether. This is the problem. But they don't wanna tell you this. They just wanna say ohh. We'll keep throwing money and everybody and everybody's gonna be happy. Wrong. That's not how it works, my friends. That is not how reality works, and I I'm sorry to tell you if you think that it's that simple. Guess what? It's not that simple and I look, I wanna show you guys this video real quick. I mean, let me pull this up real quick. OK, hold on. Here we go. Let's look at this. Let's watch it together. I'll play it. Are celebrating after Denver gave me some signed a law that will raise the minimum wage to $20.00 an hour. It comes as labor and business groups fight over how to regulate the industry. Sitting for January that is here. She talked to the fast winger. For supports the new earning. Of course, the fast food workers support this. Of course they do. What are they gonna say? Ohh no, I don't want more money. I don't blame the workers for this. It's their job to be ignorant and stupid and under not understand how affect the effect the minimum wage has on the economy, how it has, how it affects the businesses involved. They don't understand this because it's not their job to know it. But I know what cause I'm educated and I hope you know. It now too. While others are worried about how this is all going to play out. Yeah, Jesse is so worrying now. Fast food workers get paid an average of $16.60 an hour. To that, I talked to one worker who tells me living off of those earnings has been difficult. Of course, it's difficult to live off those wages you're not supposed to live off $16.00 an hour. You're supposed to use that job as no reason to build your resume so you can go do something else. That is the whole point of a minimum wage job. It's not meant to be a career. It's meant to be a kick in the behind. It's supposed to be a means to an end, not your median income. That's not how it's supposed to work. But these lazy bums. Who don't put in the work who don't make themselves difficult to replace. They now want more money. Of getting a higher pay, but some critics are worried the rising cost will get passed down to consumers. Ohh no. You mean like how the economy works? Yeah. Ohh you think? That your food prices are gonna go up as a result of this? Ohh. You betcha. Ohh yeah that that burger that was that was 5 bucks. Ohh it's gonna be 550 or 6 bucks now. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. How do you think that they're going to pay for this? So. So not only are you. People making money. Me, but now you're paying more for the food. So now you're losing money. Your paycheck runs out faster. That 5 bucks. You got an hour. Is now running out faster, too. But you don't don't tell that. To the morons. It had passed along. She arrived asking the workers and labor leaders gathered around Governor Gavin Newsom as he signed the bill that will pay them at least $20.00 an hour starting next year. Of course, Gavin Newsom's gonna support this. All. You mean the nephew of Nancy Pelosi? Oh, you didn't know that, did you? Now you do. I know who this guy is. Ex mayor of San Francisco Gavin Newsom is grueling himself. They're grilling him to be president. I guarantee you within the next couple election cycles, he will at least get the nomination. If not win the entire election. He will be president at some point in the within the next 20 years. I guarantee you you're the first on the ship. Should podcast. But my friends, of course they helped me to support their unions and the labor workers and all that. Of course, he's happy to do it. It gives him. Good press what gives better press. I held people accountable and gave them a dose of reality. Or I help single mothers be able to feed their kids. What do you think? Looks better? Yeah, exactly. What a gift. And I. Get to pull. This out? Ohh shut up, you communist bum you. The raise applies to workers at restaurants that have at least 60 locations nationwide. It will help people like Siegel whether Humanap was worked at Burger King for 20 years. Ohh man. OK, all the humanity. What is going on here? Oh oh man. Ohh Newsome. Little French, but you're an *******. I hate this man. Did this dude right here? Is such a demagogue. He's such a liar. Of course, he's happy to do. It look at this. Look at this sign. Workers win better wages and a voice on the job that sounds like. Workers of the world unite. Our friend workers or better, it's better to do the voices with workers like Bernie Sanders. Look at this man. This is just unbelievable to me. Look. Ohh, look at that. What? Is this sign about poverty? It's it's cut out of the frame. I can't fully see it. This is disgusting. Look. For anybody who wants to. OK, you know what? I've had enough. I've had enough of this garbage. Let's, let's get this crap off my screen. I can't take this anymore. These people are so stupid. They don't understand that the more the minimum wage rises, the more the cost of everything are all else around you raises up. Add inflation on top of that and you have a recipe for everybody's about to lose, and everybody who's got money is leaving is exiting stage left. They are out, they are gone. They don't want to be. Around this anymore because they realize that they're losing. My friends. Minimum wage. Is one of those concepts that is meant to have good intentions. The problem is, it doesn't actually work. To fix problems. All it does is passes the buck down the road. And make things worse. Instead of saying, hey, these jobs are not meant to be done for 20 years like that single mother, it's meant to be done for two years while you're in high school or college. They don't want to hear that. They don't want to hear that. They just hear, oh, I'm being discriminated against. Oh, it's not fair. Life should be fair. I should have everything handed to me because I live in America. First of all, I would be curious to know how the single mother became a single mother. I mean, I can use my imagination and the statistical data that I have provided to me. But my friends, I talk about this. In biblical bachelor, yes, I'm talking about it again. Why? Because if you were focused on building yourself, becoming more successful, hard to replace in the workplace, then you wouldn't have this problem. You wouldn't be affected by this minimum wage garbage. You would be above it. Now it's gonna affect you to a degree, cause everything is gonna become more expensive. Thank you very much, Governor Newsom. Mr. I'm so. Happy. I can't. I'm so honored. This is a gift. Of course it's a gift. It's gonna make you look good, but you're actually screwing everybody over. And. You know it the. Bum knows he's screwing everybody over, but he's pretending like he's a good person. One thing for sure, though, can't blame this. Wrong white man. And if he says no, that's what people are going to say. Because of the the classic race politics that is endemic in in states like California. These people, why is it the lowest common denominator is always dictating to us what we should do as a society? Can we? Can we really have a frank conversation about that? You know, we don't have a complete democracy. We have a putative Republic. Because the founders rightfully saw the most people are puzzles and they're dumb. Now, that does not mean they should not have a voice. That means their voice should be checked, because that means they're easily exploitable because they're uneducated. And easily provokable into an emotional reaction. That is what the mob is. The mob is many things, correct. Wise and prudent are no. Any do I have any part in the MOB 0 but yet we see the mob yet again dictating to us what we should do, what we should care about. And this is exactly what's going to happen. Everyone's going to lose. Because guess what? It's impossible for everybody to win. Always somebody has to lose. That's called life. And so when you try to have everybody win. Everybody ends up Endemically losing. That's just the way it works. Well, my friends, what are your thoughts on minimum wage? Do you think it's good? I think it's bad. Do you think I'm out of line? Feel free to let me know in the comments below if you're watching on YouTube or on Rumble, but if you're lusting on the podcast, feel free to go on over to my ex Twitter page. Sheep gets sheared. But at the same time I'm getting addicted to it. So I'm on there quite a bit these days, but my friends, I would love to hear what you have to say. About minimum. Wage and how it's affected you, how it's affected your family, why you have a strong opinions on it. Feel free to vent about it, my friends. God bless you. God bless your families. God Bless America. We'll make it through this. We'll see how this affects the people of California. Because California is always a test case for the rest of the country, so we'll see what happens next, but until then, I wish you the best. I'm out of here. Peace.
