Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:00:00]: Well, hello there. Welcome back to the Happy Healthy Hustle. I'm your host, Dr. Christiane, and I'm really excited that you're here. Let me tell you a little bit about this podcast. On the Happy Healthy Hustle podcast, we explore practical tips for business and for wellness. Just kind of to feel yourself finding that clarity and alignment, and we find those little daily rituals that help you feel like yourself and help you grow your business. I'm a business and wellness coach, writer, mom of two, and I'm a big believer in the power of small things. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:00:37]: I call them Petite Practice, where we can actually use our intention and shift how we feel. I would love to just check in with you. I'm here if you have any questions. You can set up a quick meeting, and I would love to hear if there's anything I can help you with. So today we are actually fully leaning into the summer. Summer is my favorite time of the year. Slightly biased, because my birthday is on July 11. So that gives that whole month a little extra sparkle. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:01:09]: When I think about summer, for me, it is really all about longer days, even more reason to get outside, and maybe even more reason to find some time to slow down and appreciate what's around you. So I try to make some extra time with my children, who currently do not take classes at school. So whenever I can, I dial back. Maybe go for a walk, go to the pool, or just kind of hang out outside in our garden. I've also been prepping for something extra special. It is my TED Talk, happening on August 16, and I'm really, really thrilled about this. I now have a countdown timer on my phone, and I'm currently in the memorizing stage. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:01:57]: It has always been my dream to give a TED Talk, so I would share my TED Talk with you if you're ready. In what I call TED Talk caroling, we can set up a quick Zoom. If you are living close by, we can even meet in person. About 10 minutes. I call it TED Talk Caroling. For 10 minutes, we can have some tea time with friends and TED Talk. And of course, it's just a mini run-through where I look at a friendly face and I give my talk. So send me a quick message if you'd be up for that. I would love it and appreciate it. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:02:31]: Thank you already. Now let's shift into something a little lighter and still super supportive. I put together my Top 10 Summer Essentials list. Real products I use and love, with a story behind each one. So let's get into it. Number one, and there's a big story, is the NOW Foods Stevia Packets. And it started kind of with a mystery. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:02:56]: Why was I always getting super bloated after drinking tea, right? It turns out it was actually the sweetener. The erythritol in Truvia. Even the tiniest little bit totally threw me off. Once I switched to clean stevia packets, it's been so much easier on my stomach. Truly petite, pure, no more drama. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:03:25]: Now, my second product that I love is the Nuxe Shimmer Dry Oil. Very French, I know. This is my TED Talk glow-up, because when I'm under the lights on the stage, the oil will give me the soft, healthy shimmer. No grease, just glow. And I will use it on my skin if I just want to feel myself a little bit more radiant. And the smell is divine. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:03:45]: Third are the Ozaiic Non-Slip Yoga Socks. Totally essential for my Pilates classes. I get some grip and style, I don't slip, and at the same time, they're really breathable and quite cute, actually. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:03:58]: They look really adorable on your feet and are super easy to put on. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:04:01]: Fourth, tying in with Pilates, are my ankle weights. I know. I use them as I move through the house, folding laundry, tidying, and even when I voice memo. They are just enough weight to make movement meaningful without making it feel like a workout. But of course, you can use them for your workouts too. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:04:25]: Number five is the Nuxe Rêve de Miel Hand and Nail Cream. Yes, it's like "dream of honey" in a little tube. I put it in my bags, I put it in my jacket. The scent is soft and soothing, and it actually works really well. It’s my go-to hand cream. Especially after washing my hands or traveling, I use it and it's like a little mental pause. Makes me think about Paris. Smells so good. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:04:50]: Number six is a mulberry silk scarf. And it's not just for the looks. It's actually for my vocal support. When I'm preparing now for my TED Talk, I'm really working on protecting my voice. Also with teaching in the summer or during cooler mornings and evenings, the scarf is light and really beautiful. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:05:11]: And quite honestly, it's something I’ve gotten so used to using that it's become a little ritual. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:05:14]: Number seven, my Vitamin D. I know. I'm all in for bone support, immune support, energy support. And that’s the one supplement I really take consistently. It's clean, plant-based, and super easy on your system. You can take it anytime in the day. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:05:30]: Number eight. I got this new travel neck pillow and it even comes with an eye mask. After my last flight, I realized my neck kind of flops forward when I fall asleep on the airplane, and then my neck hurts afterwards. This pillow is actually structured, and it comes with this eye mask. You can attach it to your airplane seat. Much better on your neck. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:05:59]: Number nine is the electric fly swatter. And it’s even a two-pack. Any backyard comes with some flies, and this actually makes it quite fun. My youngest daughter loves it, swats it around. It looks like a big tennis racket, and now it’s something she likes. Bug zapping. We get a good laugh out of it. Surprisingly joyful, and very effective. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:06:32]: And number ten are these electrolyte packets. Lemonade-flavored. After my TED Talk, I have a colonoscopy coming up in August, so hydration is important. And I'm really picky about flavors. These little packets are what I’m using to get ready and stay hydrated. They're sugar-free, but they taste like fresh lemonade. Sunshine in a cup. Dr. Christiane Schroeter [00:07:14]: Everything is linked in the show notes. My Amazon Summer Top 10. If you try something and enjoy it, let me know. I always love hearing your feedback. And I’d love to hear your summer favorites too. If you’re open to being a TED Talk caroling stop, message me. I would love it. It would mean so much to rehearse with a few friendly faces before my big day on August 16. Wishing you a bright, nourishing, and joyfully simple rest of your July week. Thanks for being here. I'm your host, Dr. Christiane, and I’ll talk to you soon on the Happy Healthy Hustle podcast.
