He was a big part of Roe 00:11:21.120 --> 00:11:23.860 v. Wade getting overturned. That was his crowning 00:11:23.860 --> 00:11:27.159 achievement. He didn't retire. And 01:23:13.409 --> 01:23:15.109 I remember hearing that thinking, that is so 01:23:15.109 --> 01:23:18.630 one -dimensional. It's got to be multifaceted 01:23:18.630 --> 01:23:20.890 like a diamond under a halogen light. When you 01:23:20.890 --> 01:23:24.109 turn it, you see the facets. And that's why I 01:23:24.109 --> 01:23:26.090 went into this deep dive study of grace. And 01:23:26.090 --> 01:23:28.970 I realized that more often than not, grace is 01:23:28.970 --> 01:23:32.279 power. It's God's power. It's God's dunamis. 01:23:32.460 --> 01:23:35.180 We get the word dynamite from that. It's explosive 01:23:35.180 --> 01:23:37.279 in nature, and it's the power for working miracles. 01:23:37.640 --> 01:23:41.779 It says that in the early chapters of the book 01:23:41.779 --> 01:23:44.159 of Acts, it says that the disciples were working 01:23:44.159 --> 01:23:46.359 great miracles and signs and wonders. It says, 01:23:46.439 --> 01:23:50.180 and great grace was upon them all, not unmerited 01:23:50.180 --> 01:23:54.399 favor. Power, ability, authority. They were walking 01:23:54.399 --> 01:23:57.319 in the grace of God. Once I learned that definition 01:23:57.319 --> 01:23:59.739 and did that study, I never saw grace the same. 01:24:00.039 --> 01:24:02.460 Now when I use the word grace, it may be in a 01:24:02.460 --> 01:24:04.420 mixed crowd and they may be thinking one thing, 01:24:04.500 --> 01:24:07.359 but I'm thinking power. I'm thinking authority, 01:24:07.500 --> 01:24:11.460 our authority in Christ. Oh, grace is not soft. 01:24:12.000 --> 01:24:14.579 Grace is what God's riches at Christ's expense. 01:24:14.840 --> 01:24:18.340 Which is great. There's a facet. There's a facet. 01:24:18.420 --> 01:24:23.550 That's good. It is true. And authority and ability. 01:24:23.989 --> 01:24:28.829 He enables us through grace. You look at Ephesians 01:24:28.829 --> 01:24:32.510 2, verse 8, classic. We are saved by grace through 01:24:32.510 --> 01:24:34.789 faith, right? Or by faith through grace. But 01:24:34.789 --> 01:24:37.529 it's by grace through faith. The only thing that 01:24:37.529 --> 01:24:39.670 can save and change a human heart is the power 01:24:39.670 --> 01:24:43.050 of God. It's not something our flesh 01:26:17.149 --> 01:26:21.109 can do. When I hear humanists and psychologists 01:26:21.109 --> 01:26:23.630 and people, therapists, talking about forgiveness, 01:26:23.930 --> 01:26:27.470 it's at such an elemental level. True forgiveness 01:26:27.470 --> 01:26:32.680 means not only do I forgive my neighbor, On the 01:26:32.680 --> 01:26:35.539 surface, I also now begin to pray for them. And 01:26:35.539 --> 01:26:39.140 you move from contempt to compassion. Where that 01:26:39.140 --> 01:26:42.020 person you were so angry with and all your friends 01:26:42.020 --> 01:26:43.699 were telling you you're right to be so. Do you 01:26:43.699 --> 01:26:46.119 know that for every step you take away from the 01:26:46.119 --> 01:26:48.460 cross, you have 12 people patting you on the 01:26:48.460 --> 01:26:50.819 back saying you have a right to be mad. You have 01:26:50.819 --> 01:26:53.500 a right to feel that way. But when we turn back 01:26:53.500 --> 01:26:55.880 to the cross, I say, I don't have any rights. 01:26:56.340 --> 01:27:02.140 I died. Dead man has no rights. So that when you're walking through the 01:28:11.520 --> 01:28:13.180 store and people are smiling at you and looking 01:28:13.180 --> 01:28:15.340 at you unusually, why? It's because there's something 01:28:15.340 --> 01:28:18.850 on you. You've put on Christ like a garment and 01:28:18.850 --> 01:28:21.350 you're walking in through H -E -B or Walmart 01:28:21.350 --> 01:28:24.310 or Publix. We had Publix in Tennessee.
