And I don't 00:06:41.300 --> 00:06:44.379 care what church you're in, what theology you 00:06:44.379 --> 00:06:48.420 have, much of it is built on what Jesus' half 00:06:48.420 --> 00:06:53.560 -brother says is doctrines of men and doctrines 00:06:53.560 --> 00:06:57.920 of demons and not necessarily what the Bible 00:06:57.920 --> 00:07:01.899 tells us. And so I want to challenge you in that. 00:07:02.259 --> 00:07:05.079 Wherever you are, from Genesis to Revelation, 00:07:05.459 --> 00:07:07.779 remember what Jesus said to the scribes, the 00:07:07.779 --> 00:07:11.100 Pharisees, the Sadducees. You search the scripture 00:07:11.100 --> 00:07:16.579 daily, but you don't see me in it. I'll be very 00:07:16.579 --> 00:07:21.720 clear. Genesis 1 -1, in the beginning, right? 00:07:21.779 --> 00:07:24.319 God created the heavens and the earth. But in 00:07:24.319 --> 00:07:27.540 the beginning, think about this, because Jesus 00:07:27.540 --> 00:07:32.829 said, I am the beginning. So immediately in Genesis, 00:07:32.910 --> 00:07:35.910 Jesus is there. So he's the word that became 00:07:35.910 --> 00:07:39.370 flesh, that took on human flesh. The very last 00:07:39.370 --> 00:07:44.250 word in Revelation is either the end or amen. 00:07:45.610 --> 00:07:51.370 When Jesus says, I am the beginning and the end, 00:07:51.550 --> 00:07:57.629 I am the first and the last, I am the yes. And 00:07:57.629 --> 00:07:59.910 I am, so no matter what translation you're reading 00:07:59.910 --> 00:08:04.910 in English, if it says amen, you see Jesus from 00:08:04.910 --> 00:08:07.930 Genesis to Revelation. And if you don't see it, 00:08:08.050 --> 00:08:10.589 it's because you're not really looking at him 00:08:10.589 --> 00:08:15.149 through his word by the Holy Spirit to bring 00:08:15.149 --> 00:08:19.110 that revelation. Moses is a type and shadow of 00:08:19.110 --> 00:08:22.829 Jesus. Moses' first miracle was changing water 00:08:22.829 --> 00:08:26.629 into blood. Jesus' first miracle was changing 00:08:26.629 --> 00:08:30.430 water into wine. And obviously it was red wine. 00:08:31.790 --> 00:08:34.370 So I say this to challenge you, no matter what 00:08:34.370 --> 00:08:36.169 book you're in, and some of them can be pretty 00:08:36.169 --> 00:08:39.929 boring. People often say, well, God's not interested 00:08:39.929 --> 00:08:42.049 in numbers. Well, then why is there a book of 00:08:42.049 --> 00:08:45.529 numbers in the Bible? Right? We have to ask questions. 00:08:45.970 --> 00:08:49.809 And actually, as a Jew, the big question for 00:08:49.809 --> 00:08:52.649 most Jews around the world, are there any Hispanic 00:08:52.649 --> 00:08:56.190 Jews here? You know, New Mexico has more Spanish 00:08:56.190 --> 00:09:00.529 Jewish blood per capita than Israel or New York. 00:09:02.870 --> 00:09:08.750 Okay. So the question is, if I'm reading one 00:09:08.750 --> 00:09:12.330 scripture, and so I'm just getting started here, 00:09:12.549 --> 00:09:18.549 but if you go to Ecclesiastes chapter one, I 00:09:18.549 --> 00:09:22.730 have a bunch of things in my Bible here. I don't 00:09:22.730 --> 00:09:26.250 want to. It mixed up, but Ecclesiastes chapter 00:09:26.250 --> 00:09:29.789 one, just one verse, verse nine. And it says 00:09:29.789 --> 00:09:35.769 this, that which has been is that which will 00:09:35.769 --> 00:09:40.370 be. And that which has been done is that which 00:09:40.370 --> 00:09:44.129 will be done. Now here's one of the verses that 00:09:44.129 --> 00:09:47.730 you probably have heard as a believer or a non 00:09:47.730 --> 00:09:53.600 -believer. So there is nothing new. under the 00:09:53.600 --> 00:09:59.240 sun nothing new now we can just take this one 00:09:59.240 --> 00:10:02.259 scripture and i'm sure you've probably heard 00:10:02.259 --> 00:10:03.840 people say you know what there's nothing new 00:10:03.840 --> 00:10:06.759 under the sun i'm sure you've heard it at least 00:10:06.759 --> 00:10:09.139 once in your lifetime oh there's nothing new 00:10:09.139 --> 00:10:13.299 under the sun but again as we just read in peter 00:10:13.299 --> 00:10:16.919 no one scripture stands on its own interpretation 00:10:16.919 --> 00:10:26.799 i'm from new jersey We live in New Mexico. If 00:10:26.799 --> 00:10:31.379 there's nothing new under the sun, why do we 00:10:31.379 --> 00:10:33.759 just keep pointing at this scripture, nothing 00:10:33.759 --> 00:10:37.279 new under the sun? What does it mean? No matter 00:10:37.279 --> 00:10:43.759 where you are in the world, life goes on. People 00:10:43.759 --> 00:10:46.759 live, people die. You need water, you need food. 00:10:47.559 --> 00:10:51.409 People argue, people fall in love. There's nothing 00:10:51.409 --> 00:10:54.250 new in that. It's life. It's living, really, 00:10:54.370 --> 00:10:58.129 because life is in Christ. But I want to challenge 00:10:58.129 --> 00:11:01.230 you to think about this. I looked this up. There 00:11:01.230 --> 00:11:06.850 are some 314 times in the Bible from Genesis 00:11:06.850 --> 00:11:11.690 to Revelation where the word new is used, but 00:11:11.690 --> 00:11:14.230 we always hit this one, nothing new under the 00:11:14.230 --> 00:11:17.860 sun, and therefore we discount. all the new things 00:11:17.860 --> 00:11:21.580 when God says, I'm going to do a new thing in 00:11:21.580 --> 00:11:25.519 your day. I'll tell you, you can go to Romans, 00:11:25.820 --> 00:11:29.179 I mean Hebrews chapter 11, the great men and 00:11:29.179 --> 00:11:33.480 women of faith, Moses, Elijah, you name it, they're 00:11:33.480 --> 00:11:37.220 in there. But if you read the end of that chapter, 00:11:37.379 --> 00:11:42.700 it tells us that they are incomplete without 00:11:42.700 --> 00:11:47.470 you and me. Think about it. Why are they incomplete? 00:11:47.889 --> 00:11:50.610 Because they were just members of the body in 00:11:50.610 --> 00:11:53.049 their day, just as you and I are members of the 00:11:53.049 --> 00:11:56.269 body in this day. If you're big on Queen Esther, 00:11:56.529 --> 00:12:00.370 she was there for such a time as this. You know 00:12:00.370 --> 00:12:04.330 why you're here? For such a time as this. And 00:12:04.330 --> 00:12:07.009 so all those great men and women of faith, they're 00:12:07.009 --> 00:12:10.289 incomplete without us. We're part of the game 00:12:10.289 --> 00:12:12.450 plan and the vision and the plan and purpose 00:12:12.450 --> 00:12:16.830 of God and his body on earth. And it also tells 00:12:16.830 --> 00:12:21.889 us, and this I love, God has greater things in 00:12:21.889 --> 00:12:26.830 store for us. How could you have a greater thing 00:12:26.830 --> 00:12:30.730 than the promise of David that on his throne 00:12:30.730 --> 00:12:34.850 his son will rule and reign forever? But God 00:12:34.850 --> 00:12:39.269 says he has greater things in store for us. We 00:12:39.269 --> 00:12:42.970 need to get a bigger vision, and whether it's 00:12:42.970 --> 00:12:46.649 Old or New Testament, it tells us that you cannot 00:12:46.649 --> 00:12:50.110 please god apart from faith it's always been 00:12:50.110 --> 00:12:55.610 about faith but that we perish because of either 00:12:55.610 --> 00:12:59.049 lack of knowledge or understanding of what this 00:12:59.049 --> 00:13:03.570 word does tell us and reveals to us but what 00:13:03.570 --> 00:13:10.970 we can see now and into the future it's a prophetic 00:13:10.970 --> 00:13:16.009 word and it's a living word In the New Testament, 00:13:16.289 --> 00:13:21.850 24, 31 times the word new, whether it's newborn, 00:13:22.149 --> 00:13:26.590 newly, newness, news. So I want you to think 00:13:26.590 --> 00:13:28.549 when you read the scriptures, no matter where 00:13:28.549 --> 00:13:32.909 you are, every time you see new, think about 00:13:32.909 --> 00:13:38.049 this. Jesus says, this is the cup, this last 00:13:38.049 --> 00:13:43.259 supper of the new covenant. If there's nothing 00:13:43.259 --> 00:13:48.299 new under the sun, why is Jesus, who only said 00:13:48.299 --> 00:13:50.600 and did what the Father told him to say and do, 00:13:50.799 --> 00:13:54.539 coming up with something new? So if you don't 00:13:54.539 --> 00:13:57.740 get this, you're going to miss the fact that 00:13:57.740 --> 00:13:59.980 it's not there's nothing new under the sun, like 00:13:59.980 --> 00:14:03.019 nothing new is ever going to happen. If you woke 00:14:03.019 --> 00:14:08.899 up today, his mercies are what? New. So we need to rightfully divide 00:15:07.169 --> 00:15:10.049 the word of truth and understand what is new. 00:15:14.850 --> 00:15:16.789 There's an old joke. Maybe some of you heard 00:15:16.789 --> 00:15:21.669 it. If you bring up the word snoo, somebody says, 00:15:21.830 --> 00:15:25.629 what's new? And then the joke is nothing. What's 00:15:25.629 --> 00:15:29.590 new with you? And I bring that up because snoo 00:15:29.590 --> 00:15:33.190 is actually an old English word. If I say I'm 00:15:33.190 --> 00:15:37.549 going to grow something, then I can say something 00:15:37.549 --> 00:15:41.769 grew. So in the old English days, we could say, 00:15:41.909 --> 00:15:46.710 well, there's snow on the ground. Or what happened 00:15:46.710 --> 00:15:50.710 yesterday? You know what? It's snow. Actually 00:15:50.710 --> 00:15:54.450 snow when we turned into snowed. But so words 00:15:54.450 --> 00:16:00.570 change, but this word never changes. Hebrews 00:16:00.570 --> 00:16:04.090 tells us that God, Jesus Christ is the same. 00:16:04.769 --> 00:16:09.669 yesterday, today, and forever. You got to wake 00:16:09.669 --> 00:16:12.610 up sometime and realize no matter what you're 00:16:12.610 --> 00:16:16.389 going through in ups and downs, our God is a 00:16:16.389 --> 00:16:20.629 constant. He never changes. What is our God? 00:16:21.830 --> 00:16:25.809 John the Beloved tells us he's love. And we'll 00:16:25.809 --> 00:16:30.169 get to that in a few. So I said all that to take 00:16:30.169 --> 00:16:37.600 us to this. If you go to Jeremiah. Chapter 31, 00:16:37.840 --> 00:16:42.659 very, very well -known scripture. I'm going to 00:16:42.659 --> 00:16:46.299 read 29 to 40. It seems like a lot, but we didn't 00:16:46.299 --> 00:16:51.759 do worship, so hang with me. Jeremiah 31, 29 00:16:51.759 --> 00:16:59.460 to 40. The title here is a new covenant. If there's 00:16:59.460 --> 00:17:01.539 nothing new under the sun, somebody got something 00:17:01.539 --> 00:17:04.920 wrong here. Is there something new here? In those 00:17:04.920 --> 00:17:07.839 days, they will not say again, the fathers have 00:17:07.839 --> 00:17:09.839 eaten sour grapes and the children's teeth are 00:17:09.839 --> 00:17:12.880 set on edge. But everyone will die for his own 00:17:12.880 --> 00:17:15.339 iniquity. Each man who eats the sour grapes, 00:17:15.400 --> 00:17:19.519 his teeth will be set on edge. Behold, days are 00:17:19.519 --> 00:17:22.980 coming. So this is prophetic. And there's churches 00:17:22.980 --> 00:17:25.940 today that say that we don't believe in prophecy. 00:17:26.720 --> 00:17:29.920 But Revelation tells us that the testimony of 00:17:29.920 --> 00:17:36.039 Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. If Genesis 1 00:17:36.039 --> 00:17:38.500 -1 talks about the beginning and Jesus is the 00:17:38.500 --> 00:17:41.599 beginning, the very first word that God gave 00:17:41.599 --> 00:17:44.700 to Moses is pointing to Jesus. And as I said, 00:17:44.720 --> 00:17:47.859 Moses is pointing to Jesus. Jeremiah is pointing 00:17:47.859 --> 00:17:50.539 to Jesus. The law, the prophets, the Psalms, 00:17:50.539 --> 00:17:52.579 when Jesus was resurrected, he's on the road 00:17:52.579 --> 00:17:55.420 to Emmaus. What's he talking about? The word 00:17:55.420 --> 00:17:59.349 of revelation about... It's all about me. It's 00:17:59.349 --> 00:18:02.289 all about me being the one that God promised, 00:18:02.329 --> 00:18:04.529 and when the fullness of time had come, God sent 00:18:04.529 --> 00:18:07.170 his son into the world. We just celebrated that 00:18:07.170 --> 00:18:14.490 on December 25th. So, Jeremiah 31, we are in, 00:18:14.490 --> 00:18:18.410 the days are coming, 31, 31, declares the Lord, 00:18:18.529 --> 00:18:22.990 listen to this, when I will, throughout the scriptures, 00:18:23.069 --> 00:18:26.890 God says, I will. God watches over his word to 00:18:26.890 --> 00:18:29.589 perform it. If he said, I will, and it hasn't 00:18:29.589 --> 00:18:32.210 happened yet, it's a prophetic word that will 00:18:32.210 --> 00:18:35.269 happen. Because God watches over his word to 00:18:35.269 --> 00:18:39.869 perform it, and he keeps it. But he says, I will 00:18:39.869 --> 00:18:46.630 make a what? New covenant.
