Among the most powerful counters to 00:55:57.219 --> 00:55:59.980 false teaching are the positive results of spiritual 00:55:59.980 --> 00:56:03.579 truth can bring. Along with teaching the truth, 00:56:03.639 --> 00:56:06.719 Timothy must live it by devoting himself to these 00:56:06.719 --> 00:56:10.019 principles. And so Paul reassures Timothy. That 00:56:10.019 --> 00:56:12.659 he can be a powerful positive influence. For 00:56:12.659 --> 00:56:16.619 Christ. So 1 Timothy 4 .16. It says keep a close 00:56:16.619 --> 00:56:20.320 watch on yourself. And on the teaching. Persist 00:56:20.320 --> 00:56:23.280 in this. For by so doing so.
