Why 00:53:08.960 --> 00:53:12.139 didn't he just go up to heaven, take his place 00:53:12.139 --> 00:53:16.739 next to God? So I started looking into it and 00:53:16.739 --> 00:53:19.860 researching. I started by asking several brothers 00:53:19.860 --> 00:53:23.739 and sisters from the body the same question. 00:53:25.760 --> 00:53:27.460 There's no right or wrong answer. I just wanted 00:53:27.460 --> 00:53:29.500 to get their response. I just wanted to see what 00:53:29.500 --> 00:53:34.599 their side of it was. Most of them gave me a 00:53:34.599 --> 00:53:39.159 similar response. Which was, it was symbolism 00:53:39.159 --> 00:53:44.440 or to show us what was to come for us. You know, 00:53:44.440 --> 00:53:47.159 the future resurrection that we would experience. 00:53:49.619 --> 00:53:56.380 They're 100 % correct. Don't get me wrong. This is Paul speaking. 00:54:44.980 --> 00:54:48.059 But now Christ has been raised from the dead, 00:54:48.239 --> 00:54:52.039 the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. 00:54:53.000 --> 00:54:56.780 For since death came through a man, the resurrection 00:54:56.780 --> 00:55:00.760 of the dead also comes through a man. For just 00:55:00.760 --> 00:55:05.940 as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will 00:55:05.940 --> 00:55:14.829 be made alive. the first fruits, afterward, at 00:55:14.829 --> 00:55:24.070 his coming, the people of Christ. So, Paul uses 00:55:24.070 --> 00:55:29.170 the term first fruits. And I think it's actually 00:55:29.170 --> 00:55:31.889 pretty important that he used this terminology. 00:55:36.010 --> 00:55:46.050 First fruits actually has two definitions. The 00:55:46.050 --> 00:55:48.750 first definition is the agricultural products 00:55:48.750 --> 00:55:52.869 harvested first and given to God as an offering 00:55:52.869 --> 00:55:59.949 slash sacrifice. Okay? The second definition 00:55:59.949 --> 00:56:09.719 is a promise of more goods to come later. Two 00:56:09.719 --> 00:56:13.260 separate definitions. However, Paul uses both 00:56:13.260 --> 00:56:17.079 definitions in this short bit of text that I 00:56:17.079 --> 00:56:22.260 just read. So, according to the verses, death 00:56:22.260 --> 00:56:26.179 came through a man, that's Adam, when he sinned, 00:56:26.199 --> 00:56:32.619 death is the wage, sin, sorry, excuse me, death, 00:56:32.760 --> 00:56:37.559 the wages of sin is death. So when he first sinned, 00:56:37.920 --> 00:56:43.679 Death came to us. The resurrection also had to 00:56:43.679 --> 00:56:45.880 come through a man, according to the scripture. 00:56:46.159 --> 00:56:52.760 And that was Jesus. So the first definition of 00:56:52.760 --> 00:56:56.440 first fruits, Christ was the first to die as 00:56:56.440 --> 00:57:01.239 an offering for our sins. So let's move on to 1 00:57:18.059 --> 00:57:34.800 Corinthians 15, 44 -49. I'm actually starting 00:57:34.800 --> 00:57:37.539 in the middle of the verse here. It says, If 00:57:37.539 --> 00:57:40.599 there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual 00:57:40.599 --> 00:57:44.760 body. So it is written, The first man, Adam, 00:57:44.920 --> 00:57:48.820 became a living being. The last, Adam, became 00:57:48.820 --> 00:57:53.119 a life -giving spirit. However, the spiritual 00:57:53.119 --> 00:57:56.639 is not first, but the natural, then the spiritual. 00:57:57.079 --> 00:58:01.179 So, first you have your natural body, like you 00:58:01.179 --> 00:58:05.599 see me standing here today. In heaven I will 00:58:05.599 --> 00:58:09.320 have my spiritual body until I am resurrected. 00:58:10.119 --> 00:58:14.460 The first man was from the earth and made of 00:58:14.460 --> 00:58:18.219 dust. The second man is from heaven. Like the 00:58:18.219 --> 00:58:20.920 man made of dust, so are those who are made of 00:58:20.920 --> 00:58:24.260 dust. Like the heavenly man, so are those who 00:58:24.260 --> 00:58:27.800 are heavenly. And just as we have borne the image 00:58:27.800 --> 00:58:30.860 of the man made of dust, we will also bear the 00:58:30.860 --> 00:58:35.230 image of the heavenly man. So this is Paul talking 00:58:35.230 --> 00:58:38.309 about the nature of our resurrected bodies when 00:58:38.309 --> 00:58:44.090 we become resurrected. I like to think that according 00:58:44.090 --> 00:58:49.030 to this text, when we are resurrected into our 00:58:49.030 --> 00:58:51.730 new body in the new heaven and new earth, that 00:58:51.730 --> 00:58:54.250 we will share some of the same traits that Jesus 00:58:54.250 --> 00:58:59.050 showed to us when he was here resurrected. Like 00:58:59.050 --> 00:59:01.309 the ability to walk through walls, the ability 00:59:01.309 --> 00:59:06.349 to teleport. the ability to change your likeness. 00:59:07.969 --> 00:59:10.690 I also like to think that, you know, when he 00:59:10.690 --> 00:59:13.889 lifted up his shirt to show the spear wound in 00:59:13.889 --> 00:59:16.389 his side, that he was like rocking some cool 00:59:16.389 --> 00:59:18.769 abs, you know, six -pack abs, you know, like 00:59:18.769 --> 00:59:22.630 the models. Without the resurrection 01:01:31.840 --> 01:01:34.340 of Jesus, there would be no promise of a future 01:01:34.340 --> 01:01:37.840 resurrection for us. And according to 01:04:04.059 --> 01:04:08.679 the Oxford Languages, which is the group, company, 01:04:08.800 --> 01:04:10.719 whatever you want to call it, that does the Oxford 01:04:10.719 --> 01:04:19.880 Dictionary, the religious definition of justification 01:04:19.880 --> 01:04:24.260 is the action of declaring or making righteous 01:04:24.260 --> 01:04:32.889 in the sight of God. So, resurrection, if Jesus 01:04:32.889 --> 01:04:41.309 being raised is an action, then because he was 01:04:41.309 --> 01:04:44.269 resurrected, we have been declared righteous 01:04:44.269 --> 01:04:48.769 in the sight of God. Through the action of him 01:04:48.769 --> 01:04:52.530 resurrecting on this earth, we were declared 01:04:52.530 --> 01:05:05.559 righteous to God. So, in conclusion, keep it 01:05:05.559 --> 01:05:09.360 short and simple here. Nice and sweet.
